The WICC Review - Oct 2025
For this year, I have chosen the theme “We are family”. As I was looking for a good quote, I came across this definition - “Family is described in quotes as nature's masterpiece, life's greatest blessing, and a constant source of love and support through all of life's ”ups and downs”. Quotes highlight that family is "everything," with no one getting left behind, creating a link to the past and a bridge to the future. Quotes also emphasize the importance of unconditional love, acceptance, and the enduring nature of family bonds, whether by blood or by choice. We are born into a family without a choice but we have friends that are also “family”. My best friend and I are family; we consider each other as sisters. Her kids call me Aunt, and if I need anything, and I mean anything, she is the first to be there. I’m sure you have friends like that too. WICC is family. We care about each other; we are there when others need us; we make sure they are not forgotten. We are always ”adopting” new sisters - get to know them, accept them into our “family”.
In January the nominating committee will be formed which will be looking at members for the upcoming election. Their job will be to find candidates for 1st Vice, 2nd Vice, 3rd Vice, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary. The committee will be calling on people to see if they are willing to serve in a position, and members may also give them names as well. You may also contact them if you wish to run for an office. Make sure you check out the qualifications for office found in your Bylaws. Take the time to read your Bylaws to learn more about Nominations and Elections. Lots of great and exciting things will be happening this year, and I hope many of you will step up and take part. The board has looked at a theme for each month so you will not be overwhelmed by donations. The first one we will be doing is Adopt a Bear. I will have Teddy Bears that you can purchase for $5.00 each. A positive comment tag will be added. The bears will be placed in totes that NORA (formerly Riverside Rape Center} gives to the victims.
REMEMBER you are under no obligation to take part in any of the donations that will come up during the year. Your only obligation is to support the Spaghetti Dinner and the Military Gala. Speaking of the Spaghetti Dinner, it is quickly approaching - October 11, 2025. Have you purchased your ticket yet? Looking forward to a fabulous year!!!
Yours in Service,
Carol Conway
2024-2025 President
