History of the Woman's Improvement Club of Corona
The Woman's Improvement Club of Corona was organized in 1899 by the daughter of Dr. Platt, a local physician; the ladies' first priority was to improve their community.  They even cleaned the streets and arranged to have rubbish carted away and agitated for a permanent sanitation department.  Incorporated in 1910 with approximately 20 members, they built our present clubhouse in 1913.  The club was federated with the State and District in 1904 and with the General Federation in 1912.  It has been a vital part of our community and was instrumental in organizing many of the local services now available.

Objectives

To bring together the women of Corona and the vicinity for discussion of questions vital to the welfare of our cities and for the mutual improvement of its members.

To promote friendliness and the general welfare of the community.

To further the education of the women for the responsibilities of life.

To participate in civic and social projects in the community.

Fellowship.

To cooperate with District, State and General Federation of Women's Clubs.

Special Interest Groups

There are several fun and interesting groups that meet on a regular basis:

Bridge (Tournament, Beginners, and 5th Tuesdays 10:30 AM

A very creative and active Arts and Crafts Department which meets year-round on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 10:00 AM

An exercise class which meets at the Clubhouse on Thursday mornings at 9:30 AM

Thi-Chi Classes meeting at the Clubhouse on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM

Parties & Special Events

The Clubhouse may be rented for parties (birthdays, anniversaries, etc), weddings, meetings or fundraisers.  We have banquet facilities, use of kitchen to warm food, large stage and dance floor.  Ensure the success of your next event:  make your reservation now.  Contact us for more information.
